Four surfaces. One workflow.
Compose audiences with the segment builder. Activate them as surveys, focus groups, or longitudinal studies. Refine with the AI advisor. Explore the consented audience when you want to learn what’s there.
1. Segment Builder
Compose an audience by combining filters across every queryable attribute. The audience count and demographic composition update as you add or remove conditions.
The builder is the entry point for everything else on the platform. Once a segment is saved, it can be activated as a survey, a focus group, or a longitudinal study — without rebuilding the audience. Every one of those runs inside Fairly; a segment aims a campaign, it never hands you the audience.
Filter composition is fully under your control: AND/OR logic, six attribute categories ranging from self-reported demographics to AI-derived behavioral inference, and a sensitive-category section that requires member opt-in to each specific category. Aggregate previews under 50 matched members are suppressed by default — the count shows but the composition breakdown doesn’t, to prevent re-identification.
2. Campaigns
Three ways to activate a saved segment, each with its own pricing model and its own audience interaction. Switch between them below.
Each campaign type charges differently. Surveys are per response. Focus groups are per confirmed seat — a no-show still uses the seat, and seats nobody confirms are refunded. Longitudinal studies are per response, per wave. Sponsored offers aren't available during the beta.
3. AI Advisor
Describe your ideal customer in plain language. The advisor queries the live audience and returns proposed segments with reasoning. Recommendations open directly in the builder.
Based on your category, I’d start with pet owners who recently bought from premium retailers and report a pet-care focus. Here’s a candidate segment to refine:
The advisor counts audiences with real queries against the live segment index and is told never to guess a number. The proposed filters open in the segment builder with one click — so you can refine, save, and activate without retyping anything.
The advisor comes with every account, with a fair-use rate limit. Conversations aren’t saved — each session starts fresh.
4. Data Explorer
Understand the audience before you build a segment. Counts and distributions across every attribute — read-only, with no segment to save and no activation cost.
Use the Explorer when you want to learn about the audience without committing to a segment build. It answers questions like “how many high-income investors are also tech early adopters” or “what does the dietary mix of fitness-engaged members look like” — and lets you do it in seconds, with no save, no charge, and no risk of accidentally activating a half-built audience.
